01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Tucked into an alleyway in Shinjuku's Araki-cho, POLPO carries the easygoing warmth of a neighborhood snack bar. Beyond its solid entryway lies a quiet, unpretentious interior where patrons drift in after dark for conversation with the welcoming mama-san. Shared interests and casual chats about favorite manga make the counter an easy place to settle in.
A typical evening begins with a small bottle of beer, the house otoshi appetizer, or a glass of whisky. In addition to light bar snacks, the bar occasionally arranges deliveries from nearby Enjin during earlier hours, making it convenient when you want a substantial bite at the start of the night.
POLPO is open Monday through Saturday from 19:00 until late-night 24:00, and is closed on Sundays. Table seating is available, reservations are accepted, and payments can be made with PayPay.
